About the Author of How to be a Salesperson
My name is Roberto Mejia and I am the founder and CEO of How to be a sales person. How to be a salesperson is a concept that I came up with shortly after losing my job a sales manager. I was a very successful sales manager in the sub-prime mortgage industry. I won countless awards for my sales and leadership. Unfortunately, when the housing market crashed, the company I worked for closed all branches leaving me unemployed.
Through the years I was a sales manager, I developed philosophies on what it takes to be a successful sales person. I developed a few basic traits successful sales people should have and activities that successful sales people should do. I also created countless sales tips, motivational messages, and motivational quotes for a “sales tip of the week” email I would send to all employees. I also developed sales structures to use for many sales situations my employees would encounter.
The inspiration for How to be a Salesperson came from those years of sales and sales management. I always liked my job. I enjoyed helping people succeed in sales and in life. I love motivating and challenging people. As I looked for a job in an incredibly saturated job market, it occurred to me that I have a lot of sales experience that I could put to good use. I wanted to offer my years of knowledge to the public. I thought about publishing a book, but let’s face it’s the 21′s century. I decided to start a blog, and I called How to be a Salesperson.
